To celebrate the first ever Norfolk Day on 27 July 2017, the team behind Porkstock, one of Norfolk’s favourite food and drink festivals, has partnered with House of Fraser at intu Chapelfield to present “The Porkstock Pop-Up”.

Between 8.30am and 7pm on Friday 27th July, more than 20 local food and drink producers from Norfolk will set-up shop at House of Fraser; selling everything from artisan gin to charcuterie to award winning chutney.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses and producers to promote and sell their delicious products alongside the fantastic range of national brands at House of Fraser,” says Pippa Lain-Smith, part of the Porkstock organising team. “Like many great ideas, it came about purely by chance when I was chatting to the House of Fraser store manager, John Higginbottom.  House of Fraser is committed to supporting the local community and working with local businesses.  And as Porkstock already has a great family of food producers, it made perfect sense to bring the two together for Norfolk Day.”

On Friday 27th July, the Porkstock producers will be interspersed with well-known House of Fraser brands such as Biba, Linea and Urban Decay, to create a mini Norfolk food hall experience alongside men and women’s fashion, beauty and homewares.

“As shoppers enter the store on the lower ground floor, they’ll instantly see a fantastic array of Norfolk produce, with even more stalls situated around the escalator atrium, near to our womenswear collections,” says John Higginbottom. “Enter via the upper ground mall of intu Chapelfield and shoppers will be welcomed by a pop-up bar operated by Vanvino, where from midday they can enjoy a local gin and tonic or beer as they shop. We’ll have more stallholders around the escalator atrium, next to beauty and menswear. So everywhere you turn, there’ll be something delicious to try and buy from Norfolk!”

The pitches are being offered by House of Fraser for free and producers will not pay commission on sales.

John adds; “House of Fraser is proud to be part of the Norfolk retail community and by working together with independent local businesses we can all benefit; creating an exciting retail mix and best of all, an experience that customers will enjoy.”

The main Porkstock festival takes place on 13 October at the Norfolk Showground, raising money for Nelson’s Journey, a charity which supports bereaved children and families in the county.

“We hope to run a raffle on Norfolk Day for Nelson’s Journey, with some tasty goodies up for grabs, kindly donated by the Porkstock producers.” adds Pippa.

Visitors to the Porkstock Pop-Up at House of Fraser can also buy their tickets for the Porkstock Evening Knees Up on 13th October, as well as a range of Porkstock merchandise.

You will also be able to buy tickets for the Knees Up event in the evening on Oct 13th. For the last 4 years this has been a sell out so essential to book early. If you can't wait that long you can book now here.
